I'm going to be starting a new series were I will be giving a quick review of each of the Primarchs of the Warhammer 40k universe.
If you are new to Warhammer and have any questions please do let me know and I'll be happy to answer them.
For todays review I'll be looking at arguably the best and most honourable Primarch Sanguinius.
The Primarch Sanguinius is one of the most beloved and revered figures in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. He is the leader of the loyalist Blood Angels Space Marine Chapter and one of the twenty Primarchs created by the Emperor of Mankind. Sanguinius was the first Primarch to be discovered by the Emperor, and his loyalty and bravery in battle earned him a place of honor in the Emperor’s grand design.
Sanguinius was born on the desert world of Baal Secundus. There, he was raised by an angelic figure known as the Angel Israfel. It is believed that Israfel imbued Sanguinius with the noble traits of courage, mercy, and honor that have since become the hallmarks of the Blood Angels.
Sanguinius was a gifted warrior and commander, and soon came to the attention of the Emperor himself. The Emperor was so impressed with Sanguinius’s skill and courage that he immediately made him commander of the IXth Legion of Space Marines, the Blood Angels.
Sanguinius led the Blood Angels to many great victories, and his valor in battle was legendary. He was wounded countless times in service to the Emperor, and eventually gave his own life in a heroic effort to save the Imperium from the forces of Chaos.
The Blood Angels have since taken Sanguinius’s example as their own, and strive to embody his courage and honor in all their actions. To this day, the Blood Angels venerate Sanguinius’s memory and remember his noble sacrifice. He is remembered in the Chapter’s martial traditions and rituals, and his name is invoked in every battle the Blood Angels fight.
Sanguinius’s legacy lives on, and the Blood Angels will continue to honor and revere their Primarch for all time. He is a reminder of the Emperor’s greatness, and a symbol of the loyalty and courage of the Imperium’s defenders.
