"Still Wakes the Deep" is a survival horror game developed by independent game studio, Team Spooky. Here's a review of the game:

Story

The game follows the story of a group of friends who venture into the woods to explore an abandoned research facility. As they delve deeper into the facility, they uncover the dark secrets of the past and awaken the malevolent spirits that lurk within. You must guide the survivors through the treacherous environment, scavenging for resources and avoiding the monsters that lurk in the shadows.

Gameplay

The gameplay is centered around exploration, survival, and combat. Players must manage resources such as food, water, and medical supplies while navigating the facility. The game features a day-night cycle, with certain areas becoming more hostile at night. The combat system is simplistic but effective, allowing players to use environmental objects and noise-making to distract or disorient enemies.

The game's atmosphere is its strongest aspect, with a creepy and foreboding environment that immerses players in the world. The sound design is exceptional, with creaking doors, distant whispers, and unsettling ambiance creating a sense of tension and fear.

i found the graphics to be dated but effective, with detailed textures and environments that bring the facility to life. The character models are simple but well-animated, with realistic movements and facial expressions.

The soundtrack is a standout feature, with a haunting and atmospheric score that perfectly complements the game's tense atmosphere. The sound effects are also noteworthy, with eerie whispers and creaking doors adding to the sense of unease.

"Still Wakes the Deep" is a great survival horror game that excels in its atmosphere and sound design. I found the gameplay a little repetitive at times, But the sense of tension and fear is maintained throughout.

If you horror games will enjoy the game's creepy environment and intense moments.

Ricos Score 8/10

Recommendation

If you like survival horror games like Amnesia or Five Nights at Freddy's, you'll likely find "Still Wakes the Deep" to be an enjoyable experience. However, if you're looking for a more fast-paced or action-oriented horror game, you may want to look elsewhere.
