Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2, a prequel to Red Dead Redemption, this Action and Adventure game offers an immersive experience through the old frontiers of early wild America; a time where the age of the outlaw is all but at an end. With a compelling story with over 40 hours of gameplay alone, Red Dead Redemption 2 offers an outlook on life as an outlaw on the run from the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. Explore caves, lush forests, vast desserts, misty mountains, and eerie water-saturated swamps as you traverse through the large world of Red Dead Redemption 2. With immense choices of clothing, weapons, and horses, there is no lack of variety of how you choose to play, whether it be as an honourless highwayman or an honourable helping hand, the world of Red dead redemption 2 allows you to play as you see fit. This

in my opinion is what makes Red Dead Redemption 2’s story so compelling with how it offers such a quality take on life as an outlaw.

Your choices made within the world around you can have effects on your environment, how the civilians react to your presence, or even how your fellow gang members respond to the clothes you wear. Even with its vast areas of exploration, the game goes even further beyond with its high quality graphics. Utilizing The Rockstar Advanced Game Engine, the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 allows players to get lost in a near photorealistic environment. With multiple regions as listed before. With 8 years since its original game’s release, Rockstar have taken it a step further by integrating a much more interactive honor system while still maintaining some of the original mechanics. Unlike the original, Red Dead Redemption 2 allows the player to actually form a bond with whichever horse the player chooses, whether it’d be a tamed wild horse or one bought from a stable. As good as Red Dead Redemption 2’s story is, it’s not without its faults. While the game’s interactive map sports many locations and areas to explore, the game has shown evidently that the formerly accessible Mexico territory, as seen in the first game, has remained unfinished in Red Dead Redemption 2 since the game’s initial release. Those who’ve exploited the game’s mechanics to explore the unfinished territory may find partially visible trails, buildings, even forts that are not completely finished in the second game. Red Dead Redemption had also set the bar with its hit DLC ‘Undead Nightmare’ leaving many fans of the Red Dead Franchise in want of more. Furthermore, Rockstar Games have declared that they have since ceased the idea of launching Major updates to the renowned Red Dead Online in place to focus on Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto 6.

This has left many players who’ve remained since the beta release disappointed and rightfully so ,to make things short, the story of Red Dead Redemption 2 is nothing short of a cinematic masterpiece, taking the player on a journey filled with adventures of revenge, grief, love, honour, and redemption. A true experience to behold and a perfect game for those who enjoy playing games whether it be for the journey or the story. While there are flaws in the online mode of Red Dead Redemption 2, the story mode has shown great responses towards fans and veterans who’ve played the original Red Dead Redemption and other Red Dead Games before it by setting the bar of what a western shooter should strive to be.
